The boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Lowell Invitational in Golden Gate Park on Saturday. The meet featured over 45 teams, 2,400 runners from all over Northern California and 13 races over the 2.93-mile course. Transfer  senior Emmet led the boys. He ran 16:45 and averaged a quick 5:43 per mile for his first San Francisco meet. According to Coach Bob, “Emmet has the talent and work ethic to qualify for the state meet.” Also of note was cross country newcomer, junior Erik’s time of 17:43. Senior Anna led the girls, averaging 6:57 per mile for a time of 20:22. Coach Bob is impressed with her vast improvement since last year. He is confident that as the team gradually becomes more fit, performance will improve as the season progresses.
