10th Annniversary Logo

We are thrilled that The Bay School is celebrating its 10th Anniversary – a significant milestone in the school’s short history. Bay has never been stronger with our largest-ever student body of 321 students including a 9th grade of 90 who have enrolled from 38 middle schools.

Because of The Bay School’s steady growth, we now have the capacity to offer our largest number of interesting electives yet, from Astrophysics to Advanced Topics in Mandarin in our rich academic program. We have a record number of students working in the very popular Project Center, forming and leading interesting clubs and service organizations, planning compelling Intersession adventures, participating on successful athletic teams and in other activities (rock climbing, dance, yoga, etc.) and assuming meaningful leadership roles across the school. The campus is abuzz.

A particular challenge that comes with our increased size is maintaining the close community and strong school culture. If you ask anyone who is on campus on a regular basis, this is part of the essence of Bay. The staffulty strive to retain what makes Bay a distinctive school.

We also recognize that many Bay Area families are just beginning to learn about us. We are actively working to address the “unknown or misunderstood” challenge, because we have a great story to tell.  We encourage parents and guardians, alums and friends to help us spread the word.

There is a vast amount of interesting and detailed content on our recently-updated website. We are a pioneer among independent schools in our use of social media, so it’s easy to access or subscribe to content on multiple channels.

Our Morning Meeting is a powerful window into our school culture.  Parents and guardians are welcome to drop in any day and encouraged to bring guests.

As we roll out more news of our 10th anniversary speaker series and celebrations, we encourage Bay families to reach out into the community and bring friends, especially those with middle school children.
